Building and Maintaining High Performance Teams

    Teams and effective work groups are very much a part of today's successful organization.
This workshop is designed to enable participants to learn how to work more effectively as a team. In the workshop the group looks at various team member communication styles, discusses overall team direction, decides how they want to work together, and structures their roles to accomplish their objectives. The team's goals and action planning module then provides the impetus to establish the goals and action plan to move the team forward.

Building an Ideal Team

Objectives for Participants:

  • To identify the different communication styles of members of the team.

  • To identify how teams work and examine the stages of team development.

  • To generate an image and a list of characteristics that describe how the team is currently functioning.

  • To identify characteristics that reflect effective teamwork and how to use these in the future work of the team.

Team Building Exercise:

  • One of the best ways to learn to operate as a successful team is to experience it under simulated conditions. Participants will be asked to work in a team to decide how personnel, materials, and time will be allocated on a project. Participants are then asked to use the plans they make to complete the project . They are then able to compare how their plans match the finished product and how internal and external pressures affected the results. This simulation utilizes a wide range of communication, leadership and team skills and abilities.
